About

This blog is for books!

I’ll read a book, then review it here for the world to see. If you’ve also read the book, tell me your opinion! I love hearing what others have to say, but please, keep it PG, and the hating to a minimum.

If you have read a book that you LOVED and think everyone else should read, let me know, because I’ll read it too! Or maybe there’s a new book out and you don’t feel like spending all that money on a hardcover you’re not sure you’ll even like. Ask me to read & review and I’ll be happy to. I love requests. Ever want to just say hello, give me a shout as well.

Books are wonderful, but I also love my friends and family. Tennis is my game and school overtakes much of my life. I love parties, sunsets, movie theaters, having random conversations, chocolate, sweatshirts, snowglobes, the internet, and dancing. You may hear me comment on many of these things from time to time.

  1. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’d be grateful if you could share your enthusiasm. The more hits on my site the more likely I am to get published – the idea is that we take the number of hits to a publisher to show how much support there is for the book. So every visit helps. Here’s hoping you’ll be able to read the whole thing in hardcopy – soon.

  4. I would want to suggest that you look into something by Simone Ekeles (not sure on the spelling) she is an author that came and spoke at a High School English Teacher convention and her books are really fun! A few titles off the top of my head- Perfect Chemistry Series, How to Ruin my Summer Vacation Series and a few others! I think you will especially like the Perfect Chemistry series judging on the books you a have read on here!

  5. I found this site via I Heart Daily. It’s great that they found you! In response to the comment about 13 Reasons Why– it’s absolutely phenomenal. You really have to read it. However, be prepared for a tear-jerker because it definitely did leave an emotional impact on me. And in response to the comment about Breaking Dawn…please don’t. I honestly despise the Twilight series, as the only message is how important it is to have a boyfriend. The movie was hysterically awful (as in, it was so bad that my friend and I were laughing out loud in the theater…)

Sorry if you liked Breaking Dawn. That’s just my personal opinion. 🙂

Have you read The Golden Compass? I’m reading it right now and really enjoy it. Also, The Hunger Games is definitely one of my favorite novels. The other two books in the series just go downhill though. Are you a fan of Sarah Dessen? I love all her books. I recommend reading either Just Listen or This Lullaby.

There’s so many more books that I love, I just can’t think of any specifics to recommend right now!

Can you review Wintergirls? I saw it at the store and thought about buying it, but I’m not sure. It looked really good!

    Great site. Great reviews. xox

    • Yay! Thanks so much! 😀
Okay, now I realllyy need to get my hands on 13 Reasons Why. It’s been out of my library FOREVER. I need to do some serious stalking and find a copy.

Breaking Dawn…well. I liked the Twilight series. Then I read the last book…After I finished and threw it on the ground, decided I’d wasted my time on the whole thing, my friends /still/ managed to convince me to see the movie. And it was as bad as I expected. xD

I love the Golden Compass! And the Hunger Games! And Sarah Dessen! You have a great taste in books, haha.

I think I’ve read Wintergirls before, but I’ve been wanting to reread it. I remember it being great the first time around. So, I’ll definitely be reviewing that! Maybe I can pick it up when I find 13 Reasons Why….

Thanks so much for stopping by! You’re awesome!

  7. Just found your blog through my girl Sophie over at A Series of Tom Fooleries and I am so glad that I did! I always love meeting fellow booknerds and look forward to reading more! I just read a book, Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan, that I think you would love, actually. I did a review on it a while back if you want to check it out. Give it a go and let me know what you think, hun!

  8. Review Request “The Wizard of Tut Tut Bun”

    Dear Kayla,

I’m writing on behalf of John McCarrick, the author of the upcoming book “The Wizard of Tut Tut Bun”.

I saw that you reviewed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and I’m helping John with the launch of his book because he is 80 and not very tech-savvy.

It would mean the world to him if you could join our launch team and leave a review on launch day on April 28.

Please download your free review copy now at https://authorremake.com/wizard-launch.

Not only will you get an advanced review copy, you’ll get some unique “extras” too.

In appreciation for your support for old time storytellers,
    Glenda.
